All quiet on the eastern front.

More pics! We finally have had a couple days of winter here - as you can see from the pics the last two months of 50+ degree weather have fooled some of the plants into blooming early.

As far as Kosovo is concerned, little or no news other than the low growl that is emitting from some of the government buildings. I'm actually planning a trip down there next week to visit religious types from the orthodox church among others - should be interesting to see the "Serbian Jeruselum" - the majority of the country's religious sites are in and around the Kosovo region, hence the comparison. Hopefully I"ll have some more shots of the region when I get back...

Kosovo decision looms

The picture doesn't have anything to do with Kosovo, but that is really what is on everyone's mind right now. We just thought it was funny that Kai AND the cats both like playing in the sink - he needs to have more playdates so he can learn from actual people instead of his feline friends...

Today the UN mediator delivers his plan for Kosovo - we're all waiting to see exactly what kind of reaction the Serbs have - most people will probably just shrug their shoulders and go on with their lives - at least we hope so. On the other hand I had a conversation with a cabby yesterday and he went on and on about how historically Kosovo is part of Serbia, and that its full of Albanian transplants who pushed out the original Serbs, yada yada. He also opined that Serbia doesn't need the EU, the EU needs Serbia because of it's geographical location. I just kept my mouth shut.

In other news, we received official word that we're headed to Cambodia next, and that we'll be spending a year in DC learning Khmer, having another baby - things like that :) Should be an interesting household - a newborn, toddler, two cats and two parents who won't be getting much sleep...
