Slackers!
Wow - we've been pretty horrible about updating the site - after the whirlwind of grandparents and auntie Anna's visit we've been busy with work stuff and trying to figure out where we're off to next. Cambodia is looking like a good option, along with Swaziland and Tajikistan. As you can see we're not exactly seeking out the garden spots of the world for the next phase of our life :) We figure that while Kai is little why not throw him over our shoulder and head off to the far reaches of the world? I can't imagine there's a lot for teenagers to do in Dushanbe, but for a 2 year old the mountains, the babushkas and the steppe would be great!
Belgrade is still pretty wonderful - we had about 3 days of autumn before decending directly into winter, but even that isn't that bad here. A little cold but still warm enough for the little guy to roll around in the leaves, run after dogs in the park and smile at old ladies on the park benches. Actually there is very little difference between puppies and little children - they seem to like many of the same things including biting their owners, going to the bathroom in random places and whine/crying when they want food :) We really need to enjoy this period of Kai's life though - he seems to be growing up at a ridiculous rate and we may have a teenager by next year if he keeps it up. All for now - we'll hopefully let ya'll know later this week where we'll be going in 2007!

John,
Speaking from experience, you are right about enjoying little Kai at this period in his life. He will be a teenager before you know it....time goes by so quickly....give him tons of hugs and kisses now while he lets you because soon he won't think it so cool.....
Hope all is well. Take Care. Paula
