After the holidays
Well, we've finally recovered from our collective holiday hangovers so it's time to post some pictures again! Here's a little shot of Kai and Murphy cat hanging out together. We recently spent a couple of days in London and although it was nice to get a taste of civilization again, traveling with a teething 16 month old is no picnic. In fact, it changes a "vacation" into a "working vacation" - ah the joys of parenthood. We'd love show ya'll some pictures of our trip, but they would only be of the hotel room and the aquarium - two of the places we spent the majority of our time due to the lovely British weather we had. Kai loved the fish though - he ran around the entire time shouting "doh, doh" which either means that he's getting an early start on his Homer Simpson impression, or that "doh" translates to "fishy" in Kai-ese. I suspect the latter is more accurate. Funny thing about the Brits - the entire society seems to have sprung from their mothers' or fathers' foreheads - at least you would think that is the case considering the reaction they have to small children. Passer byes would literally plaster themselves to the walls as we passed in what we assumed was an attempt at avoiding baby cooties or whatever the British version is. Quite a change from Serbia where random people on the street will literally yank your child our of their stroller and play with them in the park for a bit... I suspect that proper English society still expects children to be seen, not heard, or not to be seen at all unless in the proper setting (IE crib, park, museum). So glad Kai got a few years in a place that loves children...
Today is orthodox New Year, and we are all a little bleary eyed as the series of concerts they had celebrating the event happened about 40 meters from our bedroom window. We'll post some more later, in the meantime a link to Kai's new youtube video is below! Cheers!
